100 Things That Make Me Happy: Part 3

I'm doing a series of posts of things that make me happy. If you missed previous posts on this, you can go here to catch up. And in no particular order, I continue!

#11. My nickname, Charlie Brown. My Granddad gave me that nickname as a baby, and for some odd reason, it stuck. He was a man I looked up to and loved so very dearly. Oddly enough, no one ever bought me anything Peanuts related until my high school boyfriend bought me a Charlie Brown miniature. It was like one of those "why didn't we think of that?" moments. I now have several small things that are Peanuts related, all thanks to my Granddad. Crap. Now I've gone and made myself cry.

#12. Bean dip. OHMYGOD. You cannot leave me alone with a can of that stuff. Because it will be gone.

#13. Care packages. Usually these are given to me by my parents. They are pretty random, but in late 2010, when I was having a monetary shortage, my parents showed up with a bunch of random things stuffed into a huge Costco bag. It included paper towels, Kleenex, 409, Spray & Wash, a box of microwave popcorn, a 36-count box of Diet Pepsi, and a pair of pajamas.

#14. Going to work every morning watching the sunrise. Each one is different, but they are always beautiful. It's a good way to start your work day.

#15. The fact that I no longer live in an apartment. I love not having to share a minimum of three sides with perfect strangers. I actually lived in this complex pictured, it was the last complex I lived in. By far the nicest, as well. As pretty as the grounds were, the apartments were still just that.

  1. Aww. I love care packages but I've never really received one. Even at college I didn't live more than 30 minutes away from home so I was never too far away. When I moved to Florida it was a tad too far to ship/visit with stuff.

On another note I can't tell you how fed up I am with condo living! It sucks. My upstairs neighbors are horrendous! Ugh! I am sure I'll be just as thrilled when I am out of here.

Love these posts-love those sunrises. :)

    1. Yeah, sometimes distance can affect the giving and receiving of care packages. I lived downstairs once, and that was it. As annoying as climbing stairs were every day, especially with groceries, at least I didn't have to hear the neighbors kids running amok.

  2. one of my friends would send me care packages from New Zealand when she was living there. We would send things and letters, it was fun. Lervin those sunrises! Very pretty, not sure how to feel about that bean dip though. Have you tried that one in the fridge section thats layered with beans and stuff? Yum!

    1. I've had the 7 Layer Dip, which is yummy. But I love bean dip, with Ruffles. So, I don't buy Ruffles and bean dip for myself because it will be gone in a very short time! lol

  3. I'm the opposite.. I love living in an apartment.. my house makes me feel way too grown up and tied down lol.. I even looked into buying a little one bed apartment near the river where I live, but realised that that would obviously be an even bigger thing to tie me down, what with there being a mortgage involved and all

This list is really cute, I was named after the spider in Charlotte's Web and still have an ancient copy of the book in my bedroom. I'm almost certain we don't have bean dip in the UK.. does it taste like baked beans??

Sorry you got all upset over your grandad too :( At least you can remember him as being a great guy, and he has given you a really awesome nickname to keep hold of for the rest of your days!

    1. I have never actually read Charlotte's Web, but I used to watch the animated movie all the time as a kid. One of my faves.

I should just send you a can of bean dip and a bag of Ruffles. lol It's almost like refried beans, if you had those. But a bit spicier. :o)

  4. I've always loved The Peanuts Gang. They are such wonderful characters.

Those are beautiful scenes to see everyday going to work.

Care packages are the best! Always made from the heart.
