100 Things That Make Me Happy: Part 19

I'm compiling a list of things that make me happy. To catch up on previous posts, please click here. And in no particular order, I continue!

#91. The Geico commercial with the slinky. I don't know why, but it always tickles my funny bone.

#92. Watching "Love It or List It". It has become very apparent to me that my life is so freaking easy compared to what those homeowners do to the designer and realtor on that show. I'm normal. And that's saying something. lol (with that being said, I realize it's "scripted" reality tv)

#93. Opening the door of the 5th wheel thinking its raining, only to find out its snowing! And when I walked out to my car, I found that it was covered in snow. To make it more perfect, "White Christmas" was playing on the radio.

#94. Knowing my family is safe and healthy. Earlier this month, I found out that two family members were in a horrific car accident, both winding up with fractured necks; one with a broken wrist and arm, and fractured sternum; the other with a broken foot and needing a plate put in their neck. They are both doing well and home recovering.  And today I found out about another family member who was member was admitted to a hospital last night with blood cots in their lungs. They are doing well at the moment, but not out of the woods - their Christmas will be spent in a hospital, and that's just not cool. I just want them home safe and healthy.

#95. All the kind things that people are doing in the wake of the tragedy at the Sandy Hook school in Connecticut. A local youngster did a Teddy Bear Drive (which Mom donated two, I believe), and an organization is paying her way to deliver the teddy bears in person to the childred affected by the tragedy. Very heartwarming and inspiring.

  2. Your list of happiness makes me happy...just saying. :D We've yet to have any snow here in PA though we've had a few flurries. Honestly, I think I'm just FINE with that. Unless I have nowhere to go I'd rather it didn't. Now on a weekend where I can be lazy...snow away. :D

    1. Where I live we're at roughly 500-1000', so it's rare that snow falls here. However, a hour east of us, where my parents grew up, they got 4 feet of snow. Yikes! And I'm glad my list of happiness makes you happy - that makes me smile! :)

  3. Aww I hope your family are well! It does suck that they will be in hospital over Christmas - that's never fun. And that's awesome about the Teddy Bear Drive :)

Thank you for the Christmas card too!

  4. They also did a snowflake drive from all over the country. Kids are making snow flakes to decorate the new building where the kids will return to school (it's a make shift empty building now). The only requirement was that they be glittered and bright, with no messages... only where they are from. Awesome.

  5. I love those Geico "Happier Than.." commercials! So unique and original. The caveman and the gecko have gotten old, anyway.

We've had maybe two snowfalls here this season. I've a feeling we're really gonna get it in January/February - it was pretty mild here last winter.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your family members. :-)

Thank you for the Christmas card! Let me know when you want to start the Postcard Campaign again. Merry Christmas!

    1. The slinky one is the one the make me crack up most of all. The mountains to the east of us are really getting hammered with the snow right now. The roads are a mess.
