A nice lil surprise

So, tonight I was sitting on my couch, trying to think of a blog post for today and it wasn't going so well. Until I got on Facebook to check out what was new. The first thing I saw was this Christmas present one of my good friends got:

I thought this was completely Awesome. Apparently it's called "The Ex". At least she'll get a good laugh every time she walks into her kitchen! I'm actually a little jealous . . . lol

The second thing was one of my friends started a chat with me. Now, this isn't new or anything, but the person who started the chat was the surprise. It was a guy I haven't talked to since high school, and even then I don't think we ever talked too much. We simply ran in different circles. But he had something nice to say, which made the surprise even nicer:

Guy: Hey country woman
Me: Hey there.
Guy: This is the most we've ever talked but I like Charlie Brown.
Me: lol Thank you
Guy: You get education, live in the city, then you realize you're country.
I just think that was so sweet. So, thank you Guy for taking the time to read my little blog.

I had a very uneventful New Year's Eve. I was in bed by 8:45 with lights out. I was tired. And since NYE really isn't my holiday, it didn't bother me one bit. Especially since I had to be out feeding at 7am. I worked on Saturday, which was NYE, and fortunately it was a nice easy day. Well, the afternoon was easy. At least until the tech noticed like 3 gray hairs and then pointed them out. Gee. Thanks.

I finally de-Christmased my house today. It looks naked. Suddenly I have this gaping hole where my tree was. It was the only day this week that I really had the time to take everything and pack it up, and drag my tree outside. My carpet was just covered in needles. I found a few stuck in my hair later, too. Oh well.

Oh, and I'm still drowning in cookies. OMG I have so many cookies left from Christmas. I may die of a sugar overdose.

  2. I love that knife holder! Never did get one of my own, though. Don't need it now :-)

All our goodies have disappeared. Did tell hubby that if he wanted more peanut brittle to let me know; I've a whole bag of peanuts to get used up.

  3. I have seen those knife holders, I think they are awesome.
We had a quiet NYE as well. After all the Birthdays and Christmas I wasn't that crazy about more socialising.
We are drowning in chocolate and nuts so I feel your pain

  8. Imagine trying to date and bringing your new guy over and seeing that...yikes. haha. I'm not sure I could ever put a knife back into that thing without feeling a bit wrong.

Glad you got the rest instead of staying up. I managed to but turned off the tv and lights at exactly 12:01. :) Happy New Year!
