Postcard Campaign Update

I've been meaning to do a post about the Postcard Campaign, and I keep forgetting. My mind has been preoccupied, and I apologize.

I have not notified anyone for September send-outs, so we are getting a break. I know several of you have emailed me or left a comment on my blog saying that you have not received postcards for at least two months prior to September. I am working on finding out why. It really does bother me that folks sign up for it, and then only a couple people wind up receiving a postcard.

Everyone on the list has been enjoying getting postcards in their mailbox. And the one year anniversary of it passed with every single person on the list not receiving any postcards.

If this is something everyone wants to continue with, then I will keep it going.

In other news, packing is going well. I got rid of three boxes of stuff to a co-worker this week. Two boxes of bedding material that I no longer use, and one box of some random stuff that has never been used. Plus I shall be giving her some more stuff I came across. Plus I keep coming up with bags of trash, which I've had to haul to the dumpster at the office in Town.

My house looks like a tornado went through it, but I am getting stuff packed and I'm trying to get rid of stuff.

Oh, and in case anyone was curious, I kept the jars with the chick and mice skeletons.  :o)

  1. I just got the one from Pablo' angel yesterday- along wityh a big ol' sticker right in the middle of it saying she put too little postage for air mail on it and "this might have caused a delay." You might want to remind everyone that international postcard postage does NOT equal domestic postage and you should ship them from your post office so you know what postage to put on them.

    1. You might want to remind everyone to check their facts before blaming people for mistakes they haven't made.

"Thanks again to Hazel from Pablo's Angel for the post card from Ireland via the Great Post Card Campaign ! It was a lovely view of four lighthouses and reminds one that Ireland isn't all potatoes and leprechauns."

I can't speak for anyone else but all my postcards were sent via the post office with correct postage.

    2. I apologize, and admit my mistake. If you check my recent blog post, though, you'll see WHY I thought it might be you. It was after the fact that I realized that I had already got yours, and should have corrected that here as well. Let me start over. "You might want to remind people to IDENTIFY themselves so that those recieving them won't make stupid mistakes like I did."

      Okay? Friends again?

    3. Hazel, I thought abt it last night, that there are others from the UK and Ireland and wondered if it had been one of them.

    4. That's okay, I appreciate and accept your apology. It just came as a bit of a shock that's all.

  2. I love getting the postcards. I know it's a lot for you to take on though, keeping track of everything, so it's up to you if you think you still want to hassle everyone to find out why they aren't sending cards to everyone.

Either way....it's been great being a part of it all.

    1. It does take a bit of work, but the hardest part I think is trying to get people to understand international mail takes longer and in some cases getting ahold of them. But its been fun getting postcards.

    1. Yeah, I'm not sure if people aren't putting enough postage on the postcards or if they're getting addy's wrong, or if they pick and choose or if they just forget. I don't know. I wish I did.

  4. I just got one as well, but not sure from whom. It was nice anyway, though. I'm really enjoying it, even if I haven't been blogging at all for a while now. I'm looking forward to my turn sending them :)
However, I also agree with Jewels on this. It must be quite some work for you to keep track of everything. Thank you for doing it!!
