How To Be A Douche In Stores

It's amazingly easy to not be a douche in a store: Common politeness and courtesy.

Unfortunately, some people lack one or both.

More often, it's both. Sad.

I recently went to the wonderful land of Target. I love Target. I could browse for days in Target and be happy. If I had it all to myself, I could die happy.

Going down the main aisle, on my way to the make-up section because I desperately needed some new mascara. Because when you pull the stick/brush out and it's one large clump, it's time to let the tube rest in peace.

However, I had to take a detour.

Why?

Because evidently several people shopping ran into other shoppers they knew and promptly took up the entire main aisle. Not kidding. The entire aisle. Shopping carts. People. Just taking up important space. They were laughing, talking, and having a grand ol' time.

Shoppers of all kinds were trying to get around them. Trying to sneak through.

And these people were completely oblivious.

Even with other shoppers saying, "Excuse me" all polite-like.

Anybody with a cart had to divert down a side aisle. Like I did, because I had cat litter to buy so I needed a cart.

I hope these people are proud of their douchiness. Hope they enjoyed catching up with friends. And I hope they enjoyed their shopping experience at Target.

So, next time you want to aspire to be like them, just create a Flash Mob or have a family reunion at your favorite store and make sure everyone is in other customer's way.

  1. Oh god I hate that. People just stop in the middle and chat and glare if you try to get past.
If you need to talk that much, go get a coffee for goodness sake and leave the shopping to the rest of us.

    1. Exactly. Hell, just go to Target's little food area and pull up a seat.

  2. That is my pet hate, especially when I am trying to get past these people with the wheelchair. Asking politely two or three times, I then just run the wheelchair into the back of their heels and when they react, I tell them that I did ask politely three times before so was trying to squeeze past...tee hee hee.

    1. Seriously. And if after three times they still don't get it, you have every right to run them over! lol

  3. I too LOVE Target! One of my favorite places to be. It irks me when people stand in eisles like that. It's a lack of consideration. I've already "asked" chatty shoppers to move so I could look at a product they were blocking.
    :-D

  4. People love to blab. Yak, yak, yak. I've seen the mass mob of chatters all the time. I try to shop at non-busy hours.

    1. I love talking, too, but there is a time and a place. And the shampoo aisle isn't it. Go to a salon where there are chairs. lol

  7. I totally feel you, I love Target, really I do, but I would like to incinerate some of the people who go there. How rude to just stand there and take up all that space, don't even get me going on the morons who go to Walmart....

  8. I've come across it here in NW Indiana as well. Very annoying. Almost as bad as the parents who let their kids run unsupervised through the store. Those who talk/text on their phones and not pay attention to what/where they are doing/going rank a strong third!
